Reach Falls

Waterfall

Deep in the John Crow Mountains of eastern Portland, Reach Falls is one of Jamaica's most pristine waterfalls - a series of cascades fed by the Drivers River that tumble through dense rainforest into emerald pools. The main falls drop into a wide swimming hole surrounded by smooth limestone, and guides lead visitors through a hidden underwater cave behind the curtain of water. The jungle setting feels genuinely remote, with giant ferns, lianas, and buttress-rooted trees closing in around the river valley. Licensed guides are mandatory and handle navigation through the slippery terrain, pointing out safe swimming spots and the best jumping points. The site is managed by the Urban Development Corporation and charges admission (approximately $10 USD for adults). Facilities include changing rooms and a small refreshment area. Reach Falls sits about 40 minutes from Port Antonio on roads that wind through the countryside - the drive itself passes through some of Portland's most scenic rural landscape. Visitor numbers are limited, keeping the experience intimate. Aurum Transfers delivers you from OCJ Airport in about 2 hours for $465 for up to four guests, with Starlink WiFi for the mountain roads.
