Navy Island
Nature
Sitting in the mouth of Port Antonio's twin harbours, Navy Island is a 64-acre island once owned by Errol Flynn, who reportedly won it in a poker game during his years living in Portland parish in the 1940s and 50s. Flynn used the island for lavish parties and is credited with introducing Port Antonio to Hollywood's elite. The island was later sold to the Jamaican government and has served various purposes over the decades - from resort to nature reserve. Current access varies depending on management arrangements, but when open, visitors can reach the island by a short boat ride from the Errol Flynn Marina in Port Antonio. The island offers hiking trails through secondary forest, small beaches, and views back across the harbour to the Blue Mountains. The surrounding waters are popular for snorkeling. Navy Island's status can change - check locally for current access before planning a visit. The island sits directly across from the Port Antonio waterfront and the historic Folly Ruins. Aurum Transfers delivers you from OCJ Airport in about 2 hours for $465 for up to four guests, with Starlink WiFi and inside-terminal pickup.
