Lucea Clock Tower
Historic Site
Lucea Clock Tower is a distinctive 19th-century landmark in the centre of Lucea, Hanover Parish, Jamaica, standing at the town's main intersection near the courthouse. Local legend holds that the ornate cast-iron clock was originally destined for the Caribbean island of St. Lucia but was mistakenly delivered to Lucea due to the similar-sounding names. The clock tower has become the defining symbol of Lucea and appears on parish crests and tourism materials. The surrounding town square features Georgian-era architecture including the Hanover Courthouse and several restored colonial buildings. Aurum Transfers provides private airport transfers from Sangster International Airport (MBJ) starting at $150 for up to four guests, with complimentary Starlink WiFi and cold beverages. The 1 hour drive from MBJ follows the north coast highway west through Hopewell into Lucea's historic centre.
