GoldenEye Beach
Beach
GoldenEye is the estate where Ian Fleming wrote all 14 James Bond novels between 1946 and 1964, drawing inspiration from the Jamaican coastline, the characters he met on the island, and the name itself - borrowed from a wartime naval intelligence operation. Today the property operates as a boutique resort under Chris Blackwell's Island Outpost brand, but the beach and lagoon are accessible to non-guests through day-pass arrangements (availability permitting - call ahead). The private cove features a white sand beach, calm swimming, and Fleming's original writing desk has been preserved in a recreated study. The lagoon behind the beach connects to a network of mangrove channels suitable for kayaking. Fleming named the estate after his wartime operation 'GoldenEye' and the property's creative legacy extends beyond Bond - musicians and writers have used its residences as creative retreats for decades. The beach sits in Oracabessa Bay, near James Bond Beach and a short drive from Firefly. Aurum Transfers delivers you from Ian Fleming Airport (OCJ) in about 30 minutes for $90 for up to four guests, or from MBJ in about 2 hours 15 minutes for $340.
