Columbus Park
Historic Site
Columbus Park is an open-air historical museum in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, perched on a cliff above Discovery Bay on the north coast. The park commemorates the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1494 and displays colonial-era artifacts including sugar boiling pots, a water wheel, cannon, and a locomotive from Jamaica's earliest railway. Interpretive panels tell the story of Jamaica's Taino inhabitants and the island's transition through Spanish and British colonial periods. The elevated position provides panoramic views of Discovery Bay's turquoise waters and the surrounding limestone hills. Columbus Park is freely accessible and located alongside the main north coast highway between Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios. Aurum Transfers provides private airport transfers from Ian Fleming International Airport (OCJ) starting at $95 for up to four guests, with complimentary Starlink WiFi. The 40 minute drive from OCJ passes through Runaway Bay to Discovery Bay.
