Jack Sprat Beach

Beach

Jack Sprat is the social anchor of Treasure Beach - a laid-back beach bar and restaurant on Calabash Bay that serves as the gathering point for the community's mix of Jamaican locals, expat residents, and independent travellers. The kitchen turns out excellent seafood - grilled lobster, steamed fish with okra, fried snapper with bammy - alongside pizza and bar snacks, all served at tables in the sand with your feet in the warm south coast waters. Weekend nights bring live music or DJ sets, and the crowd is a genuine mix of ages and nationalities drawn by Treasure Beach's low-key, community-driven tourism model. The swimming here is different from the north coast - the south coast has darker sand, warmer water, and stronger waves that create good body-surfing conditions. Treasure Beach as a whole comprises four bays spread along 6 miles of coastline, each with its own character. Jack Sprat sits on Calabash Bay, near several boutique hotels and guesthouses. The community also organizes the annual Calabash Literary Festival. Aurum Transfers delivers you from MBJ Airport in about 3 hours 15 minutes for $445 for up to four guests, with Starlink WiFi.
