Turtle Beach Ocho Rios
Beach
Turtle Beach forms the eastern section of Ocho Rios Bay Beach, named for the hawksbill and green sea turtles that historically nested along this stretch. While turtle nesting has declined with development, conservation efforts continue to protect any nests that appear during the June-to-November season. The beach itself is a calm, shallow swimming area popular with families staying at nearby Fisherman's Point and Turtle Beach Towers condominiums. The sand is golden-brown, and the protected bay keeps the water gentle enough for small children. A small admission fee applies, and facilities include changing rooms, showers, and beach chair rentals. Water sports including kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling are available through operators on the sand. The beach is less commercialised than the main Ocho Rios Bay Beach section closer to the cruise pier, offering a quieter experience on most days. Food options include beach vendors selling fresh coconut water, jerk chicken, and fried fish. Turtle Beach sits within walking distance of downtown Ocho Rios restaurants and shops. Aurum Transfers delivers you from MBJ Airport to downtown Ocho Rios in about 1 hour 55 minutes for $285 for up to four guests.
