Blue Hole (Ocho Rios)
Waterfall
Hidden in the hills above Ocho Rios, the Blue Hole (also called Island Gully Falls or the Secret Falls) is a series of cascading waterfalls that feed into deep, vivid turquoise pools carved into limestone. Unlike the manicured experience at Dunn's River Falls, the Blue Hole feels raw and unfiltered - you scramble over rocks, jump from ledges into pools ranging from 10 to 20 feet in height, and swing on ropes into the water. Licensed guides are mandatory and help navigate the slippery terrain and identify safe jumping points. The deepest pool is roughly 20 feet, and the water clarity reveals the limestone bottom. The site sits about 20 minutes from downtown Ocho Rios up a rough road - 4WD vehicles are recommended, though most tour operators handle the transport. Changing facilities and a small bar operate near the entrance. This is a wetter, more active experience than Dunn's River - expect to be soaked and exhilarated. Combination tours often pair the Blue Hole with Dunn's River or the Secret Falls. Aurum Transfers delivers you from MBJ Airport to Ocho Rios in about 1 hour 55 minutes for $285 for up to four guests, with Starlink WiFi.
