St. Peter's Church Port Royal

Historic Site

St. Peter's Church Port Royal is one of Jamaica's oldest surviving Anglican churches, standing in the historic village of Port Royal in Kingston Parish since 1726. The current structure replaced an earlier church destroyed in the 1692 earthquake that sank much of Port Royal into Kingston Harbour. The church interior features original wooden pews, a carved organ loft, and memorial tablets commemorating British naval officers who served at the Port Royal naval station. A silver communion plate bearing the royal cipher of King George III is among the church's historic treasures. The churchyard contains graves of British sailors and merchants dating to the 18th century. Aurum Transfers provides private airport transfers from Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) starting at $110 for up to four guests, with complimentary Starlink WiFi. The 45 minute drive from KIN follows the Palisadoes road to Port Royal.
