Montego Bay Cultural Centre

Cultural

Montego Bay Cultural Centre is a heritage and arts institution in St. James Parish, Jamaica, housed in a restored Georgian-era civic building on Sam Sharpe Square in downtown Montego Bay. The centre includes a museum documenting the 1831 Christmas Rebellion led by National Hero Samuel Sharpe, a gallery featuring Jamaican visual artists, and a performance space for music and theatrical productions. The permanent exhibition traces Montego Bay's history from Taino habitation through the sugar plantation era to modern tourism. The building itself is one of Montego Bay's finest examples of Georgian colonial architecture, with a restored facade and courtyard. Aurum Transfers provides private airport transfers from Sangster International Airport (MBJ) starting at $75 for up to four guests, with complimentary Starlink WiFi. The 20 minute drive from MBJ follows Queens Drive to Sam Sharpe Square.
