North of Seven Mile Beach, past the strip of beach bars and boutique hotels, the Negril coastline curves into a quieter crescent called Bloody Bay. The name sounds dramatic -- and its history is -- but the bay itself is the opposite: calm, protected water lapping against a wide stretch of white sand that hosts some of Jamaica's most popular all-inclusive resorts.

This is where Hedonism II has held court for decades. Where Royalton Negril draws families and couples with its modern all-inclusive formula. Where the Riu and Princess brands stack their properties side by side along a beach that rarely gets overcrowded despite the number of guests it holds.

Bloody Bay is all-inclusive heaven with a side of adventure. Cliff jumping at the south end. An uninhabited island you can kayak to. And Hedonism's legendary energy adding a pulse that no other bay in Jamaica quite replicates.

Transfer Prices to Bloody Bay

All prices are for up to four guests in a private vehicle. Fixed pricing, no haggling, no hidden fees.

Most guests arrive through MBJ, which is the closest major airport. The drive to Bloody Bay takes roughly ninety minutes, passing through Lucea and along Hanover's coast before descending into Negril. It is a scenic route, especially in the final stretch where the road hugs the shoreline and the water turns from deep blue to turquoise.

Every Aurum transfer includes Starlink satellite WiFi, cold water, air conditioning, and a JTB-certified professional driver. We track your flight in real time and adjust for any delays at no extra charge.

What Makes Bloody Bay Special

Bloody Bay's appeal is its combination of scale and calm. The bay is wide enough to accommodate eight major resorts without feeling packed. The water is shallow and protected, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. And unlike Seven Mile Beach to the south, there is less foot traffic from day visitors and locals, which gives the bay a more private, resort-exclusive atmosphere.

The name has nothing to do with violence in the tourist sense. Historical accounts link it to whalers who once used the bay to process their catch, staining the water red. Today, the only red you will see is the sunset reflecting off the calm surface of the Caribbean.

The vibe shifts depending on which stretch of beach you are on. Near Hedonism II, things get lively, social, and clothing-optional. Near Royalton and the Riu properties, it is polished all-inclusive relaxation with swim-up bars and entertainment teams. Near the quieter ends, you can find a stretch of sand that feels entirely your own.

Bloody Bay Resorts and Properties

Hedonism II

There is no resort in the Caribbean quite like Hedonism II. Famous worldwide for its clothing-optional beach, its party atmosphere, and its unapologetic embrace of adult freedom, Hedonism attracts a devoted following that returns year after year. The all-inclusive package covers premium spirits, water sports, and nightly entertainment. It is not for everyone, and that is exactly the point.

Royalton Negril

A modern, polished all-inclusive with a strong Diamond Club tier that includes butler service, premium liquor, and exclusive pool and beach areas. Royalton draws a mix of couples and families with its clean design, multiple dining options, and reliable Autograph Collection quality. The resort sits on one of the widest stretches of Bloody Bay beach.

Riu Negril

The Riu brand delivers its signature formula here: generous all-inclusive packages, multiple pools, buffet and specialty restaurants, and a beachfront that connects seamlessly to the bay. Riu Negril is a solid mid-range all-inclusive with consistent quality and no surprises.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay

A step up from the standard Riu, Palace Tropical Bay offers upgraded rooms, more refined dining options, and a quieter atmosphere within the Riu complex. Guests have access to both properties, which expands the dining and pool options considerably.

Princess Grand Jamaica

A large-scale all-inclusive from the Princess brand, offering extensive facilities, multiple pools, and a range of room categories. The property includes family-friendly areas and adults-only sections, making it versatile for different travel groups.

Princess Senses The Mangrove

The boutique extension of the Princess brand in Negril. The Mangrove focuses on wellness, nature immersion, and a more intimate all-inclusive experience. Set among the coastal mangroves, it offers a different perspective on Bloody Bay than the beachfront mega-resorts.

Little Bay Country Club and Point Village Resort

These smaller properties offer alternatives to the large all-inclusives. Little Bay Country Club provides a residential atmosphere near the coast, while Point Village Resort delivers a more relaxed, villa-style experience on the bay.

Attractions Near Bloody Bay

Booby Cay Island

A small, uninhabited island just offshore from Bloody Bay. You can kayak, swim, or arrange a boat ride to reach it. Once there, it is pure Robinson Crusoe energy: empty beaches, clear snorkeling water, and the feeling of having an island entirely to yourself. Some resorts offer excursions, or you can arrange a local fisherman's boat from the beach.

Royal Palm Reserve

A protected wetland area in the Negril morass, home to the royal palm tree (Jamaica's national tree) and a surprising variety of birdlife. Guided walks take you through boardwalk trails above the wetland, where you can spot herons, egrets, and endemic species. It is a quiet, nature-focused contrast to the resort experience.
