West End Cliffs
Nature
The West End Cliffs stretch along Negril's southern coast, forming a dramatic ironshore limestone edge that drops directly into deep, clear Caribbean water. Unlike the gentle sand of Seven Mile Beach to the north, the West End is all about raw geology - honeycombed rock formations, sea caves, natural swimming grottoes, and cliff-edge sunsets that rival anything in the Caribbean. Small boutique hotels, restaurants, and bars line the West End Road, many with private ladders leading down to the water and wooden platforms for sunbathing directly above the sea. The Caves Hotel (now part of Island Outpost) offers cave dining and cliff jumping for guests. Walking the West End Road between Rick's Cafe and the Negril Lighthouse covers roughly 3 kilometres of the most scenic coastline in western Jamaica, with dozens of small bars and restaurants offering cold drinks and fresh fish along the way. The cliffs face due west, delivering unobstructed sunset views nightly. Snorkeling is excellent along the cliff base where reef fish shelter in the crevices. Aurum Transfers delivers you from MBJ Airport to the Negril West End in about 2 hours 45 minutes for $340 for up to four guests.
