Rick's Cafe
Landmark
Since Richard Hershman opened this clifftop bar in 1974 - when Negril was still a quiet fishing village - Rick's Cafe has become one of Jamaica's most famous attractions. Perched on a 35-foot cliff along the West End Road, the open-air venue spans 1.5 acres of terraced platforms overlooking a natural cove of clear blue water. The main event is cliff jumping: five platforms at varying heights from 10 to 35 feet allow both cautious beginners and confident leapers to take the plunge while onlookers cheer from the bar. Local professional divers perform acrobatic dives from even higher points, including a billboard-height perch that only the most experienced attempt. Rebuilt twice after Hurricanes Gilbert (1988) and Ivan (2004), Rick's operates daily from noon to 10pm with no cover charge. Live reggae bands perform as the sun sets, and the crowd peaks around golden hour - arrive by 4pm for a good seat. The menu covers jerk chicken, seafood, and tropical cocktails. Aurum Transfers delivers you from MBJ Airport to Rick's in about 2 hours 45 minutes for $340 for up to four guests, with Starlink WiFi for the scenic drive.
