Peter Tosh Museum
Cultural
Opened in 2016 on the Pulse Centre property on Trafalgar Road, the Peter Tosh Museum honours the life and legacy of Winston Hubert McIntosh - founding member of The Wailers alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, and a fearless solo artist whose songs Equal Rights, Legalize It, and Get Up Stand Up became anthems of resistance. The museum houses Tosh's personal artifacts including his M16 guitar (custom-built in the shape of a rifle), stage costumes, handwritten lyrics, Rastafarian religious items, gold records, and the unicycle he was known to ride around Kingston. Interactive displays explore his activism for cannabis legalisation, his pan-African political stance, and his contribution to reggae music's global reach. Tosh was murdered in his Kingston home in 1987 at age 42. The museum operates in a modern gallery space and offers guided tours. It sits in the uptown New Kingston area near the Bob Marley Museum and Devon House, making a music-focused Kingston walking itinerary highly feasible. Aurum Transfers delivers you from Norman Manley Airport (KIN) in about 45 minutes for $110 for up to four guests, with Starlink WiFi throughout the drive.
