Cultural

The Institute of Jamaica and Natural History Museum is a national cultural institution in Kingston Parish, Jamaica, founded in 1879 on East Street in downtown Kingston. The institute houses Jamaica's most comprehensive natural history collection, including preserved specimens of endemic birds, reptiles, and marine life, alongside geological samples and Taino artifacts. The Natural History Division maintains research collections spanning Jamaica's biodiversity, from the Jamaican iguana recovery programme to Blue Mountain endemic plants. The museum serves as both a public education resource and a scientific research centre. Aurum Transfers provides private airport transfers from Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) starting at $110 for up to four guests, with complimentary Starlink WiFi and cold beverages. The 45 minute drive from KIN crosses the Palisadoes into downtown Kingston.
